What this Contract Means for YOU!

The Fully Recommended Modifications to our contract provide competitive wages and affordable healthcare and continue to invest in our associates’ pensions while keeping groceries affordable for our customers and maintaining a successful business.

Wage Overview

  • Grocery, Produce, Deli/Bakery Department Leaders and Customer Service Coordinators would receive up to a $2.65/hr increase through the three-year agreement.
  • Head Meat Cutters would receive up to a $2.50/hr wage increase through the three-year agreement
  • Head Dairy, Frozen Food, and Head Seafood Clerks would receive a $2.15/hr wage increase through the three-year agreement
  • All Assistant Department Leaders, Leads, Meat Cutters, and Meat Journeymen would receive $2.15/hr through the three-year agreement.
  • GM Department Head, GM Department Head, Home Managers, and Asst. Home Managers would receive a $2.15/hr wage increase through the three-year agreement.
  • Grandfathered Department Leaders & Service Directors (Apparel Manager, Apparel Manager, Service Director- hired before 3/16/82 and Service Director- hired between 3/16/82 and 11/20/05) would receive a $2.15/hr wage increase through the three-year agreement.
  • Full-time Top-Rated Chefs and Service Directors (hired on or after 20, 2005, but promoted before Nov. 18, 2018) would receive a $2.15/hr wage increase through the three-year agreement.
  • Top Rate Pharmacy Technicians would receive up to a $3.05/hr increase through the life of the agreement.
  • The Pharmacy Technician starting rate increases by $4 to $16.00/hr and the starting rate for Certified Pharmacy Technicians increases by $4.50 to $19.00/hr!
  • Clerk starting wages would move to $14.25/hr, helping to hire and retain talented associates to support our team.
  • Courtesy Clerks/Baggers would receive up to a $1.00/hr wage increase at ratification.

Premium Wage Overview

In addition to competitive hourly rates, the Fully Recommended Modifications include competitive premiums, depending on role and classification:

  • E-Commerce Clerk wage premium would increase from $.50 to $2.00/hr.
  • Fuel Lead, Liquor Lead, Back Dock Receiver, File Maintenance, and Specialty Marketplace Lead Clerk premiums would increase from $.50 to $1.00/hr.
  • Floral Lead premium, with $6,000+ Weekly Sales, would increase from $.50 to $1.00/hr.
  • Floral Lead premium, with $2,250-$6,000 Weekly Sales, would increase from $.25 to $.50/hr.
  • Manager on Duty wage premium would be $1.00/hr for those assigned MOD work between 7 am to 10 pm. One must complete the MOD certification to be eligible.

Three Step Wage Progression

Our contract introduces a new three-step wage progression that rewards and recognizes associates. Our new three-step wage scale provides multiple ways to earn wage increases, including annual contract increases and/or when moving to a new “Step” based on hours worked.

  • FT and PT clerks move into the same wage progression, both receiving annual Associates would be able to reach top rates two to three years sooner based on hours worked.
  • The Pharmacy technician wage scale would follow a similar three-step wage
  • Vacations, Holidays, and Personal Days are counted as hours worked. Paid Time Off (PTO) hours are considered hours worked when determining your Approved medical leaves of absence are not counted against you.
  • Those Clerks at the current rates of $15.00/hr and $17.10/hr and Deli Clerks at $15.50 and $17.10/hr would be placed at the Red Circled Rate on the new wage scale. They would receive a $1.00/hr wage increase the first Sunday two weeks after ratification, followed by annual contractual increases of $.50/hr on February 18, 2024, and $.65/hr on February 16, 2025.
  • Red-circled rate associates would not fall back on the wage scale and would not be subject to the measurement period for wages.

Ratification Bonuses

Department Head, Asst. Department Heads, Full-time Top Rate Leads with Premiums, Full-Time Top Rate Clerks, and Full-time Top-Rate Clerks and Deli/Bakery Clerks hired prior to 11/20/2005, Service Directors hired prior to 11/20/2005 and Top-Rate Service Directors hired after 11/20/2005 would receive $2,500, less taxes and deductions. Full-time Top Rate Courtesy Clerks would receive $300, less taxes and deductions
